P2P

 “PERSON TO PERSON”

Exodus 33:11

11 Thus the LORD used to speak to Moses face to face, just as a man speaks to his friend. (NASU)

I don’t know about you, but the idea of speaking to God face to face, just as a man speaks to a friend excites me. It’s probably because I am more like Thomas in the Bible who needed physical evidence of Christ’s resurrection or he couldn’t believe. Never the less, I would love to see physically, what I have only been able to see spiritually.

 Moses spoke with God face to face, and he lived to tell about it. He sat down with Him in the wilderness and had a chat with Him, like one friend to another.  I cannot think of a greater encounter.

Believe it or not, God is still in the business of speaking with His children, person to person. He is not some great elusive deity, far off in space that does not have the time to communicate with His children.  No, He never logs off, and is available 24/7.

 God has several basic ways for us to speak with Him P2P. He so desperately desires our chat times, that He makes Himself available in a variety of settings.

1. We can speak to God person to person when we read His Word, the Bible. The Bible is God’s love letter to His children. He wrote in these books His emotions, His passions, His personal desires, His likes and His dislikes. He gave instructions on all areas of life, and He even told us how to follow those instructions.

One verse in the Bible says that “God’s Word is like a lamp to your feet and a light to your path”. It’s like that little light on the vacuum cleaner that allows you to see in areas that you normally could not see, and to clean up messes that you had no idea were even there.

Most often when you read a book, unless you supply the emotion, then the experience can be lifeless. However, God’s Word is alive and it speaks so directly to your heart that you know that you have met with God, P2P. It is exciting, exhilarating and powerful.

2. Another way that we can speak to God P2P is by way of His Son, Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us that “no one comes to the Father, except through the Son”. As you undoubtedly know, there are certain chat rooms that are off limits unless you know the correct password, or have the proper membership. Access to the Father is like that too. Until you have spoken to the Son, there is no access available to the Father.

The requirement to gain access is much simpler than gaining access to a chat room.  There are no fees, no address, phone number, or credit card numbers required. Simple surrender is the only requirement. The Bible says in Romans 10:9-11 “ that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, "WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE  DISAPPOINTED." NASU

Once you know the Son P2P then you know the Father P2P. In John 14:9 the Bible says, “He who has seen Me has seen the Father”. When we talk to the Son we talk to the Father, and when we talk to the Father we talk to the Son. How great is that?

3. Another way in which we can talk to God P2P is by way of the Holy Spirit. The Bible says that when we surrender to the Son, then we receive a permanent hook up that will permit us access to the Father 24/7. That connect is better than, High Speed, DSL, or any other electronic connection available. The connection is the Holy Spirit.

At the moment of our surrender, the Holy Spirit takes up residence inside of us. He becomes like a permanent antenna that gives us immediate access to the Father. The Bible tells us that the Holy Spirit is the Father, and the Father is the Holy Spirit; confusing, yet true.

 The Bible says in John 14:26-27 “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you. When the Holy Spirit speaks to you, then you are speaking to the Father P2P.

 Here is an exciting truth for you. You can speak P2P with the Father today. He is available, and is actually waiting for you to log on. Why not make this the best chat of your life.  Log in and chat away P2P.
