Starting out on the voyage of life the coarse and destination
unknown
it seemed I sank more than I sailed and I often felt all alone
Instead of using the winds I chased them sailing in circles
instead of a straight line
I knew I needed the a helmsman but I wanted to sail this ship
of mine
Steering in my own direction I crashed and started to sink
the speed slowed down the wind had stopped I had nothing to
do but think
I knew I needed a helmsman but was afraid of losing by boat
so I bailed the water faster but I still couldn’t stay
afloat
It was dark, I was lost and hopeless when the helmsman cam
to say
I have the truth, I have a light and I most assuredly know
the way
In my pride I declined the offer and decided to sail it alone
but soon enough I hit rock bottom and that’s when the
light was shown
He came into my ship and took over the rudder set at 180 degrees
he sailed right at the stormy weather and into the raging
seas
He brought a peace that passes understanding and a destination
came to light
I had been heading off in the wrong direction and trying to
get there on my own might
I still often try to steer her and he’ let me but he’d
be no where to be found
but his hand was always on the wheel just as I start to run
aground
I often get a glimpse of the destination and try to get there
at full speed ahead
but I’d get out of control and loose my sight, I’d
lead instead of being led
my boat was torn and battered after my almost fatal wreck
so I go to thank the helmsman and he’s upside cleaning
the deck
The debris left from the wreckage caused the boat to turn
and sway
but the man who steered me out now wiped all the storm away
if you ever need the helmsman you can call him anytime
his number is in the Bible and He’s not that hard to
find
The wages for help is costly, more money that can ever be
made
but to work to pay him is foolish be the debt has already
been paid
