Someone innocently passes by,
causing wicked gossip to fly.
It became quite hot and heavy
like white lies gushing from a bevy.
A person instantly in disgrace
without any mercy or grace.
The news spread and so did the tale
like remnants at the rummage sale.
We did not mean to cause such harm.
What can we say in our own defense?
Satan used our tongues to cause offense.
It's best to be cautious of what you say.
Never speak before you take time to pray.
