Did I / do I press the thorns in-
To Your head and pricked Your brow
How it must hurt, blood and anguish
Please forgive me, both then and now

Did I / do I weigh your burden
You carry quietly without a sound
I’m included in the pressure
Of the worlds sins beating down

Did I / do I grasp the hammer
Swing it down with all my might
When the nails tore through Your body
Who was there to see that sight

Did You / do You love me Jesus
When you hung and stared above
This of course is elementary
You died and rose for those you Love

Trust me Lord, I do so Love You
Though at times, I seem to stray
Hold me in Your arms so gently
Draw me nearer, there I’ll stay
