“Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein
have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with
a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. Bring ye
all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine
house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I
will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour out a blessing,
that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”
Malachi 3: 8-10
King James Version
Most of us know that we need to pay tithes and offerings to Jesus,
but a lot of us don’t realize that this verse is not just
talking about money. Jesus said to bring all the tithes into the
storehouse. Our tithes should also include our time and talents.
There are twenty-four hours in a day. How many of those hours are
spent serving Jesus? If we spend more hours on our own selfish pleasure,
rather than serving Jesus, then we are hurting the Heart of Jesus.
There are people all around us who are hurting, in despair, and
lonely. All of us can spend at least an hour a day calling people
on the telephone or emailing people to let them know that Jesus
Loves them.
Jesus doesn’t ask much of us considering everything He has
done for us. None of us, including myself, have any idea of how
much Jesus has done for us. We only have a little grasp of how much
Jesus suffered when He hung on the Cross for us.
Let’s reach out to others today and let them know that Jesus
Loves them by our actions and words.
