Trinity

Trinity

by Hal Warren

KJV John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  2 The same was in the beginning with God.  3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.  4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.  5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.  6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.  7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.  8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.  9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.  10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.  11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.  12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:  13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.  14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

One of Jesus' pre-incarnate titles was "The Word". He does what God the Father asks to the point that there is no distiguishing between what God says (i.e.,the Word) and what Jesus does (i.e., the Word).

KJV 1 Corinthians 12:4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. (that is, the Holy Spirit is the power behind gifts)

KJV 1 Corinthians 12:5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. (that is, Jesus is the leader of the Church like a company President)

KJV 1 Corinthians 12:6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. (that is, God the Father is charge of overall strategy like a CEO)

God the Father has the thought and speaks it forth, Jesus then goes forth to do the spoken Word (hence His title), and the Holy Spirit supplies the supernatural power to bring it to pass. While all three of the trinity are God they have chosen to operate in this manner with God the Father being in charge, Jesus second, and the Holy Spirit third. While the Holy Spirit is third He is the one that gets to display the power that they all possess. This is ultimate humility and shows the wisdom of:

NAU 1 Corinthians 12:23a and those members of the body which we deem less honorable, on these we bestow more abundant honor,

 For example:

KJV Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. (God the Father thinks and speaks the creative idea of making man to Jesus and the Holy Spirit)

KJV Genesis 2:7a And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, (God the Lord Jesus,  the Word, takes the spoken word of creating man and starts doing it)

KJV Genesis 2:7b and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (God The Holy Spirit is the breath or wind of God and brought to life the person that Jesus made)

The same is true in the Jesus' ministry while on Earth and is to be the same today. The church is to fulfill Jesus' role of doing the Word spoken by God the Father (which includes the Bible) with the Holy Spirit giving the power to make our natural abilities produce supernatural results.
