The Foundation of our Rights

I use the following to get the basis for our authority into my heart:

In the:

Authority of the name of Jesus, by the

Blood of God who became flesh, by the

Cross where He bore this my curse away, and by the

Spirit of Holiness that raised Christ and me from the dead

Go from me thoughts (or demons, etc.) of  _________!

We have all Authority that is needed to establish the Kingdom of God on Earth even as it is in Heaven given to us by Jesus who received it from God the Father:

NKJ Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.  19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  20 "teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.

NKJ Acts 4:12 "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."

NKJ John 14:14 "If you ask [respectfully demand] anything in My name, I will do it.

The Blood of Jesus testifies that God became flesh and conquered Satan legally as a man (the last Adam). If God had not come in the flesh it would not have been a legal victory. Furthermore, the blood of Jesus sealed an everlasting "new" covenant between God the Father and Jesus the God-Man for us. We are in a covenant (i.e., an infinitely strong contract) that gives us the right to use the name of Jesus to enforce the establishment of the Kingdom of God!

NKJ Revelation 12:11 "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

NKJ 1 John 4:2 By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

NKJ Hebrews 13:20 Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

The Cross of Calvary is where Jesus absorbed all the effects of the fall of man (i.e., the curse and sin) in our place. He did not simply pay our sin debt but rather eradicated it. Consequently, Satan has no basis to condemn us that are walking in the Spirit (i.e., living moment by moment under the guidance of the Holy Spirit). This means all our actions are dictated by "grace doing acts of mercy in compassion" and any slips we knowingly make are instantly repented of by us and forgiven and forgotten by God. Furthermore, any mistakes that we make "unknowingly" are covered until we can be taught that they are wrong at which time we repent.

NKJ Galatians 3:13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"),

NKJ Colossians 2:13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 4 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

NKJ 1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

The Holy Spirit is the one that defeated Satan with, in, and upon Jesus! He is now with, in, and can be upon us Christians (i.e., if we ask Him to come upon us to give us power for service) to enforce Satan's defeat and establish the Kingdom of God on Earth even as it is in Heaven. Furthermore, we have been raised from spiritual death to spiritual life by the Holy Spirit which freed us from Satan's rights of ownership (i.e., sinners become servants of Satan) and gave us the same rights Jesus has a the Son of God!

NKJ Matthew 12:28 "But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.

NKJ Acts 10:38 "how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

NKJ Acts 1:8 "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

NKJ Romans 8:17 and if children, then heirs -- heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

NKJ Ephesians 1:19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,  21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.  22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church,  23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. 2:1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,  2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,  3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

Now this is not teaching a formula to cast out demons or get rid of fallen angels or Satan but rather the truth that they have to obey. When you understand that all the power in Heaven and Earth has been given to us by the Holy Spirit in our lives and the authority (i.e., the right) to use that power has been given to us by Jesus, then demons will tremble and Satan will look for easier prey. The way you understand these truths is by understanding the history of the fall of man and what Jesus did via the cross of Calvary by shedding His own human blood. I do not always rehearse all of this when the enemy attacks instead commanding the demonic thoughts and demon to go "In Jesus Name". However, this works for me because they know, that I know, my rights to use the Name!
