Choose
to be Chosen
(Ephesians 1)
(SHARP): NAS Matthew 22:1-14
Point of View: You must choose to be chosen.
Action Step: Choose to be God’s chosen by accepting the Lord
Jesus as your Savior and Lord.
Benefit: You will become the chosen of God.
Key Point 1: God the Father has chosen all to
Salvation before the beginning of the World. (Ephesians
1:4-8)
Subpoint 1.1: NAS 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow about His promise,
as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing
for any* to perish but for all to come to repentance.
Subpoint 1.2: NAS 1 John 2:2 and He Himself is the propitiation
for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those
of the whole world*.
Subpoint 1.3: NAS 1 Timothy 2:3 This is good and acceptable in
the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men* to be saved and
to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one
mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
6 who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony borne at
the proper time.
Key Point 2: God the Holy Spirit attempts to draw all to faith
in Jesus Christ for Salvation
Subpoint 2.1: NAS John 6:44 "No one can
come to Me, unless
the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up
on the last day.
Subpoint 2.2: NAS John 16:7 "But I tell you the truth, it
is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the
Helper shall not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you. "And
He, when He comes, will convict the world* concerning sin,
and righteousness, and judgment; 9 concerning sin, because they
do not believe in Me; 10 and concerning righteousness, because
I go to the Father, and you no longer behold Me; 11 and concerning
judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.
Subpoint 2.3: NAS Revelation 22:17 And the Spirit and
the bride say, "Come." And let the one who hears say, "Come." And
let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes* take
the water of life without cost.
Key Point 3: God the Son cleanses the “chosen ones” from
all sin by the power of His precious Blood. (Ephesians
1:7; 1 Peter 1:18,19)
Subpoint 3.1: Justification for the Spirit of
the “chosen” – removal
of the guilt and penalty of sin and the conference of a positive
righteousness.
Subpoint 3.2: Sanctification for the Soul of
the “chosen” – a
progressive work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the chosen in
which He eliminates sin and produces His fruit.
Subpoint 3.3: Glorification for the Body of
the “chosen” – the
future transformation of our bodies into perfect, sinless, deathless
bodies. The Holy Spirit within us is God’s seal, earnest
money, or guarantee that this will ultimately happen at the Rapture.
Repeat Point of View and Action Step
Benefit: You will become the chosen of God, adopted as a son and
joint heir with Jesus Christ. (Romans 8:17)
(SHARP): NAS Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord,
and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you
shall be saved; 10 for with the heart man believes, resulting in
righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
* God desires salvation for all not just those that will accept
the free gift of salvation.
