Day 37
Read: James 4:6—10
To
draw near to Jesus Christ, you don’t have to
take one
step with your feet.
To touch the
hem of His garment, you don’t have
to lift a finger.
Physically you can’t get any closer to
Jesus than you are right now.
You’re closer to Jesus at this moment
than you are to your own skin.
But you can be physically close to Jesus
and spiritually worlds away.
The day that
woman touched the hem of His garment,
a whole multitude
pressed and bumped and brushed
against His body.
But she was the only one who
really touched
Him.
Her heart and her spirit went out to
Jesus as those trembling fingers took
hold of His robe.
Drawing near
to Jesus Christ is not something that
happens on the
“outside” but on the “inside”.
it happens in the invisible,
in your heart,
in your will.
....“For she said within herself if I but
touch His garment, I sha1l be whole.”
You can “touch”
Jesus right where you are this
Moment.
....If you really want to, then:
1. get down on your knees (humility)
so you can reach that dusty hem.
2. believe Jesus’ precious word: “shall”.
“Ask and it shall be given you.”
