Day 30
Read: Luke l4:l5—20
God has called
us to salvation.
We have the invitation
in our hand.
The invitation
is our “religion”.
So what happens?
We begin to count our chickens before
they’re hatched.
We begin to think that because we have
the invitation, we’re in....”When the
roll is called up yonder I’ll be there.
Ah, but the roll
isn’t called “up yonder”---
it’s called right down here!
it’s being called right now!
“Come for all things are now ready.”
“Deny yourself, take up your cross,
and
follow me in this world.”
Now, Lord?
Just when I have
so many things of my own on my
mind?
I’m very
sorry, but if to enter the Kingdom means
that I must turn
aside from my own plans now, I
just won’t
be able to come.
“That’s up to you, my child. I will not
force you.
But remember, once you reject my call to
obedience, that invitation (your religion)
that you hold in your hand is worthless.
Behold, now is the accepted time.
Now is the day of salvation.”
