Day 26                Read: Isaiah 40:3—5
         
         So often people say: “If Jesus Christ really
         wants me to come to Him, why does He make it
         so hard?”
         
             Friend, Jesus isn’t making it hard!         
                  The problem is not that Jesus is hiding
                  ....or that He isn’t listening to you...
                  or that He doesn’t care.
         
                  The trouble is in your own heart.
         
         The Path that will bring you into union with Jesus
         Christ is not out in the world.
         
             So nasty people,
                mean circumstances,
                noise and calamity cannot block your
                relationship with Jesus Christ
         
         The Path that will bring you into union with Jesus
         Christ is within your own heart.
         You don’t have to search from place to place look-
         ing for Jesus Christ. You don’t have to run to
         and fro straining your ears to hear His voice.
         
             All you have to do is clear that cluttered,
             vine—tangled path in your own heart, and
             Jesus will come to you.
         
             “Make straight the way of the Lord!”
         
             The Path is there. Just clear it of:
         
                 1. the weeds of unrepented ugly thoughts
                    against others
 
                 2. the gully of spiritual slothfulness
         
                 3. the rocks of unconfessed and unre—
                    pented worry
         
                 4. the wild vines of covetousness.
