Day 13
Read: Romans 5:1—1l
Your heart is
a Temple. God is within it.
His very glory
burns and His voice speaks and
His perfect peace
abides in that temple---beyond
that veil of
unworthiness (which is your guilt).
Guilt is not
just an unworthy feeling.
It doesn’t
just come from eating bananas before
you go to bed.
Your guilt is
as real as the thick clouds which
hid the sun from
Golgotha that awful afternoon.
Your guilt is
as real as the gravity which keeps
you bound to
the earth.
Your guilt veils
you from the depths of your own
heart and the
Voice which can be heard there and
the Light which
can be seen there.
When that veil
is torn asunder, then you will in-
stantly find
yourself in the presence of God.
But who can tear the veil? What power can
reach into my heart and accomplish this “
Only He whose Spirit passed through
the veil of the Temple after “He bowed
His head and gave up the ghost”, tearing
it from top to bottom.
Fix your faith-eye
on the dying Jesus.
Put your confidence
in His blood.
Call upon His
holy Name in repentance. Then His
atoning blood
and sanctifying Spirit will tear
the veil of your
guilt and give you perfect peace
with God.
